DQ UNIVERSITY CULTURAL ARTS BUILDING Yolo County, CA

The DQ University Cultural Arts Building was transformed from a nondescript WWII era Naval communications warehouse to a multipurpose cultural center that expresses Native American Indian esthetics and identity. All this was done within the tight time and budget constraints of the institution. Effective, low-cost measures like creative exterior color schemes and flooring patterns allowed the building to be transformed in the most economical way possible. Today, it is an attractive gathering place for Powows, large scale meetings, and performances.
