| Vacaville Transit Center. This zero-net energy project consists of gabled roof bus shelters that are oriented south and covered with integrated photovoltaics. Straw bale benches meander beneath the shelters while refractive glass “light fins” are illuminated by LEDs at night create a changeable view. A clock tower announces the location of the intermodal station to the community.
Energy-conserving LED lighting is used throughout the project. |
