| Central Bus Terminal, Antigua, Guatemala. This study combines the bus terminal and marketplace functions for the region. The L-shaped bus terminal sorts passengers on as many as twenty buses at one time under an open-air shelter designed for shade and natural ventilation and lighting. The building framework has a Quetzalcoatl-inspired form. The marketplace is integrated in-and-around this transportation hub, with sections for fruits, meats, poultry, vegetables, clothing, and dry goods arrayed in a radial plan layout inspired by Mayan patterns. | |||||||||||||||||
